Neil Armstrong (2015 to present)

Neil Armstrong was built by Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, Washington in 2014 and delivered to WHOI operations in September of 2015. As a University-National Oceanographic Laboratories System (UNOLS) ship, the Neil Armstrong will support advanced oceanographic research in tropical and temperate oceans and will serve as a general-purpose ship based in the Eastern US.
